HIGHER LEVEL OF EDUCATION AS AN OPPORTUNITY FOR HIGHER EMPLOYMENT

Abstract

Education has become a significant factor that determines the quality of life and competitiveness of the economy. It is a prerequisite for sustainable social development and high-level general education of the nation which is associated with increasing economic potential of the country. People with higher education adapt more quickly to changes in the economy and the labor market. Along with the accumulated knowledge and skills this is a factor for higher employment. This article shows whether higher educational level ensures higher employment rate. The aim of the study is to reveal the connection between educational level and employment in Bulgaria based on official statistical data. To achieve the objective an approach for statistical analysis is applied of comparing the different educational levels with the relevant employment levels. The study covers the period 2010 - 2015.
