VOLUNTEER TOURISM AND TOURISM INDUSTRY

KIRIL KIRILOV

Abstract

The present article attempts to present volunteer tourism as an alternative experience to the traditional tourism practices. The focus of the article is that volunteer tourism is one of the best alternatives to the mass tourism which is destroying in many ways, and mainly in its attitude to turn into “commodity” cultures, places and people. As opposed to that, volunteer tourism aims at better common understanding and cultural values exchange.

Key words
