BALKAN WARS DEMOGRAPHICS CONSEQUENCES FOR BULGARIA (1912-1913)

Abstract

It is presented the economic and social advancement of the reestablished Bulgarian state after its liberation from Ottoman dependency. It had to face the glory and heavy lost after the two Balkan wars 1912-1913. The most striking is the lost of the human military force – twice larger compare to the other Balkan countries and the lack of compensation by new territory, as it was happened of Serbia and Greece. The consequences as demographic dimensions concerned lowing of fertility and male labor force, charging the state by the financial aid of a great number of orphans, widows and invalidated persons. Presented numerical they prove the difficulties but resistance as well of Bulgarian people fitting for liberty and independent life.
